Empowered Women, Empowering Our Community
Pearls in Action: June Chapter Highlights
The Build Our Economic Wealth and the Advocate for Social Justice Committees of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®, Alpha Beta Xi Omega Chapter, hosted an engaging series of discussions highlighting leadership, advocacy, and economic empowerment. Attendees gained valuable insights from distinguished women leaders within our community during our panels on Women in Business & Entrepreneurship, Women in Politics, and What Is a Lobbyist? Special thanks to Police Chief Zandral Washington, Senator Merika Coleman, Judge Tanita Cain, and Terri Chapman for sharing their expertise and inspiring us to lead, serve, and make a difference in our communities. Also, we extend our sincere appreciation to our outstanding vendors: Sister Kimberly Graham (Body Butter by Kim), Sister Janeka Maze (Meaningful Xpressions), Michelle Knight (Boss Realty by Michelle), and Sister Brenda Dial (Wrapped Crown 2016 LLC). Through their voices, we gained wisdom. Through their vision, we explored new possibilities. Through their legacy, we are inspired to continue building stronger communities and creating lasting impact.
The Sip & Trip Sister Squad Set Sail - June 6 The Sip & Trip Sister Squad traveled to Montgomery, Alabama for an unforgettable day of dining, dancing, and a scenic riverboat ride filled with laughter and sisterhood. As for what happened on the riverboat… well, what happened on the riverboat is staying on the riverboat! What we can share is that every member had a wonderful time and that it was a trip to remember! Here’s to more adventures, more laughter, and more sisterhood along the way!
Dressed in pink and vibrant African prints, the members of Alpha Beta Xi Omega Chapter gathered for a joyful celebration as we commemorated our 4th Charter Anniversary and honored Abril Cook and LeKindra Mitchell for 25 years of dedicated service to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. From laughter and fellowship to celebrating milestones and accomplishments, the evening was filled with sisterly love and appreciation. And, of course, the business of Alpha Kappa Alpha was handled with excellence and purpose. Following the meeting, the celebration continued as members gathered at Corbeau for food, fellowship, and fun, making memories while celebrating the bonds of sisterhood. Here’s to four years of service, sisterhood, and impact—and to the remarkable legacies that continue to inspire us!
